Jing Method™ Massage Therapy in Brighton
Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage with Jemma Jackson
Brighton life can be full-on – long hours, full calendars, the constant buzz of energy that never quite lets your body rest. My Jing Method™ Massage sessions offer space to slow down and reset while addressing pain and movement challenges in an evidence-based, collaborative way.
I work from Brighton & Hove Therapies, just a short walk from Brighton Station, providing an inclusive, body-positive environment where everyone is welcome.
Appointments are available on Monday evenings – ideal for unwinding after work or starting the week with intention.
Evidence-based massage with heart
I’m Jemma Jackson, a Jing Method™ teacher and advanced clinical massage therapist. I’ve spent years working with people living with pain, fatigue, or physical change – helping them reconnect with their bodies and find practical ways to move with more ease.
Jing Method™ Massage isn’t a routine or a “quick fix”. It’s a flexible framework that combines hands-on techniques, movement, and pain-science education to support long-term change. We’ll work together to understand what your body needs and how to help it recover strength, balance, and confidence.
Sessions are suitable for persistent pain, pregnancy from conception to the fourth trimester, and anyone adjusting to life or body changes.
“Jemma is exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled and managed to get to the root on my knee pain and treat the cause of my pain, rather than the symptoms. Giving me a good dose of education and letting me know what is causing my pain and how to manage it and prevent it from raising its ugly head again. Can not recommend highly enough.”

Why Jing Method™ Massage?
Pain isn’t just about muscles – it’s shaped by your whole story: stress, relationships, hormones, sleep, trauma, even beliefs about your body. The Jing Method™ takes all of this into account, blending modern pain science with compassionate, skilled touch.
I teach this approach at the Jing Institute here in Brighton, where it’s been redefining how massage therapy is taught and practised for over two decades.
“We were hurt in relationship, which means we are going to heal in relationship.”

Who I work with
Many of my Brighton clients spend long hours at desks, on their feet, or in creative roles that demand focus but take a toll on the body. Others are managing chronic pain, fatigue, hypermobility, or hormonal shifts, or are in pregnancy or postnatal stages.
I also work with neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients who appreciate a calm, sensory-aware space where they can show up exactly as they are.
If your body feels tense, tired, or simply not your own, this work can help you reconnect and move with more comfort and confidence.

What a session looks like
Your first session is longer, giving us time for a thorough consultation, assessment, and any special testing if needed. This is where we set out your treatment goals and record our baseline measures - things like pain levels, range of movement, sleep, energy, or anxiety.
Each follow-up session begins with a check-in and quick review of what’s changed since your last visit. We’ll reassess your benchmarks and decide where to focus that day.
Your hands-on treatment may include deep-tissue or myofascial techniques, hot-stone work, trigger-point therapy, or assisted stretching. Depending on your goals, we might also bring in breathwork, mindfulness, or progressive strength-based movements to help your body keep adapting and build resilience.
This isn’t a one-hit wonder. Every session is part of an outcome-based treatment plan, designed to move you towards your goals step by step. If things aren’t progressing, we’ll mix things up - and if there’s genuinely no change, we’ll talk openly about other options or onward referrals.
As progress builds, sessions are spaced further apart until you either transition into a maintenance membership or feel ready to finish treatment.
“Jemma is an incredible massage therapist. I have rheumatoid arthritis and her treatments help calm my system down and I always feel amazing afterwards. She really knows her stuff and gives great self care suggestions. If you suffer with any kind of chronic pain I can't recommend her enough”

Programmes and Pricing
The research is clear: for persistent or complex pain, what you do consistently over time matters far more than any single session. One treatment can offer relief, but it can't build the understanding, trust, and adaptation your body needs to change in any lasting way.
That's why I work in programmes rather than one-off sessions. Each programme combines hands-on treatment with consultation, assessment, and rehabilitation strategies, creating a genuinely personalised approach that evolves as you do. Between sessions you'll have practical tools to work with: movement, strength work, or body-awareness practices that make sense for where you are right now.
This is what the evidence supports for persistent pain, and it's what I've seen work. The difference between a good massage and a structured, multimodal treatment programme isn't just about technique - it's about having a plan, following it, and adjusting it together as your body responds.
Every session begins with a check-in and ends with a reassessment, so progress is always measured and the plan always reflects where you actually are. My role isn't to fix you - it's to offer skilled input, honest guidance, and real partnership while your body learns to adapt and heal.
Sessions begin weekly, with the gap increasing as you move towards your goals.
You can choose from three packages depending on your needs:
-
Choose from: 3 x 90 minutes or 4 x 60 minutes, both £290
This is where we begin. Whether you're new to this way of working, dealing with something that's recently flared up, or simply ready to do something about pain you've been putting up with, this programme gives us the foundation we need.
Your first session includes a full consultation and orthopaedic assessment alongside hands-on treatment. From the start we're building a clear, individualised picture rather than just responding to symptoms. We'll use techniques including myofascial release, deep tissue massage, hot stones, and joint mobilisation, alongside movement and rehabilitation guidance you can work with between sessions.
Each session builds on the last. By the end of the programme we'll have a much clearer sense of what your body needs, and you'll have practical tools to support your own recovery.
The 90-minute sessions give us more room to work and tend to suit people with more complex or longstanding concerns. The 60-minute sessions are a good fit if your schedule is tighter or your goals are more focused.
-
Choose from: 4 x 90 minutes or 6 x 60 minutes, both £430
If your pain is persistent, recurring, or starting to shape the way you live and move, this programme gives us the time and depth to work with it properly. This is the right fit for people dealing with things like chronic back pain, migraines, pelvic pain, fatigue-related symptoms, or movement restrictions that keep coming back despite your best efforts.
Over the programme we'll move beyond responding to symptoms and start exploring the deeper patterns driving them — how your whole system is responding, not just the site of your pain. Treatment draws on myofascial release, deep tissue massage, hot stones, joint mobilisation, and nervous system support, woven together with movement rehabilitation and education so you understand what's happening and why.
Each session builds on the last, and the programme is valid for eight months, giving us flexibility to pace the work in a way that suits you. By the end, you'll have a much clearer picture of your body and a practical framework to keep moving forward.
The 90-minute sessions give us more room to work and tend to suit more complex or layered presentations. The 60-minute sessions work well if your schedule needs flexibility or your goals are more specific.
-
Choose from: 6 x 90 minutes or 9 x 60 minutes, both £630
This is the most in-depth programme I offer, and it's designed for people who need more time, more depth, or both. It suits those living with complex or long-term pain, multiple overlapping issues, or those navigating significant body or life changes — including long COVID, burnout, trauma-related pain, or hormonal shifts like perimenopause.
Pregnant clients are welcome from the first trimester.
The extended length of this programme means we can pace things gently and thoroughly. There's more space to settle in, track patterns over time, and really test what's working between sessions. Treatment draws on the full range of Jing Method techniques, with a particular focus on nervous system regulation, movement confidence, and building sustainable strategies for living with more ease in your body.
As with all programmes, every session begins with a check-in and ends with a reassessment. Over ten sessions that continuity adds up to something meaningful — a genuinely detailed picture of how your system works and what it needs.
The programme is valid for 12 months, giving us the flexibility to pace the work around your life.
Memberships
Ongoing monthly or fortnightly sessions can help maintain progress and prevent pain returning.
Pick a rhythm that suits your life and your budget.
Sessions are monthly and don’t roll over.
You can choose from three membership options depending on your needs:
-
Perfect if you want to keep things ticking over. Maybe we’ve resolved a specific issue, but you know your body feels better when you get regular input. Once a month gives you a chance to check in, notice changes, and stay ahead of tension or pain before it builds up again.
-
Great for managing ongoing symptoms, busy bodies, or times of extra stress. Fortnightly treatments give us the space to work with deeper patterns, support your nervous system, and respond to how your body is doing from week to week. It’s steady support, without being overwhelming.
-
For when you know your body needs weekly input to stay on track. This option offers consistent, focused work with enough frequency to really shift stubborn patterns, stay connected to movement goals, or support long-term regulation. It’s also a solid option for people in active rehabilitation or emotionally demanding life seasons.
Just a few things to know:
Sessions don’t roll over, so it’s up to you to get them booked in – I’ll help you stay on track. Think of it as a commitment to yourself, not just your calendar.
