Creative Counselling in Newhaven & Online
A space for every expression of human
Therapy for people who feel things deeply, differently, or not at all…. yet.
Therapy where you don’t have to shrink yourself
Hello!I’m Cloe.
I created Every Expression Therapies because I believe there is nothing wrong with being who you are. Different is not broken. Intense is not too much. Sensitive is not weak. Queer is not confusing. Autistic is not deficient. ADHD is not lazy.
Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to mask, perform, or edit yourself to be acceptable.
I work mainly with autistic, ADHD and AuDHD adults, as well as LGBTQIA+ clients, people living with pain, and people exploring identity, sexuality, polyamory and relationship structures. Neurotypical clients are very welcome too. What matters to me is that you want a space that is collaborative, reflective and real.
You don’t have to arrive polished. Just arrive.
What is Creative Counselling?
Creative Counselling is still therapy. We talk. We think. We feel. We reflect.
But we don’t rely on words alone.
Sometimes words are brilliant. Sometimes they disappear. Sometimes they get tangled or feel unsafe. Creative Counselling allows other ways in - through drawing, movement, imagery, metaphor, sandtray, objects, writing, silence.
You do not need to be “creative”. This isn’t about making art. It’s about making meaning.
Some sessions may involve no creative materials at all. Some might. It depends on you.
You are at the centre.
Who I work with…
I’m a BACP registered counsellor in Newhaven, East Sussex. I work in-person and online, and most of the people who reach out to me are looking for neuroaffirming therapy.
I work mainly (but not exclusively) with autistic, ADHD and AuDHD adults. Some have a diagnosis. Some are self-identifying. Some are still figuring it out. You don’t need paperwork to be taken seriously here.
A lot of my clients are tired. Tired of masking. Tired of overthinking every interaction. Tired of being told they’re too sensitive, too intense, too emotional, too blunt. Underneath that tiredness there’s often anxiety, burnout, trauma, or the slow build-up of years spent not quite fitting.
I also work with LGBTQIA+ clients and people exploring sexuality, gender, or non-traditional relationships. Sometimes that work is about identity. Sometimes it’s about family, shame, visibility, or safety. Therapy shouldn’t be another place where you have to explain the basics of who you are.
Some people find me because they’re searching for an ADHD therapist, autism counselling for adults, or counselling in East Sussex that actually understands neurodivergence. Others just know they want therapy that feels less clinical and more human.
If you want a space where difference is understood rather than corrected, we’ll probably get on.
Am I the right therapist for you….?
Therapy is a relationship. You’re not just booking a service, you’re choosing a person to sit with you in some of your most vulnerable moments. It matters that it feels right.
I offer a free 15-minute phone call so we can get a sense of each other. You can tell me what’s been going on, ask anything you like, and notice how it feels to talk to me.
You don’t need to prepare anything. You don’t need a perfectly worded explanation. Just come as you are.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll take the next step. If it doesn’t, that’s completely okay. The right therapeutic relationship makes all the difference, and I want you to find that, even if it’s not with me.
What makes this different?
Therapy is not about fixing you.
It’s about understanding you.
I work integratively, drawing from psychodynamic, relational and creative approaches. That means I pay attention to your history, your patterns, your body language, your nervous system, and the dynamics between us.
I care deeply about social justice. I acknowledge that trauma doesn’t just happen in families — it happens in systems. Racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny — these are real forces that shape mental health. We are allowed to talk about them here.
This is not neutral therapy. It is affirming therapy.
What happens in a session?
Sessions are 50 minutes, once a week. That rhythm matters. It creates safety. It gives us something steady to come back to.
In the beginning, we’ll talk. I’ll ask about what’s brought you here, what feels stuck, what feels heavy, or what simply doesn’t make sense yet. You don’t need a perfectly packaged story. We can start wherever you are.
Some sessions are very conversational. We might follow a thread from your week and gently notice patterns, reactions, memories. We might sit with something uncomfortable and not rush to solve it.
Other times, words aren’t enough. You might find yourself doodling while you speak. We might use objects, images, metaphor, or movement to explore something that feels hard to name. You can stim, pace, avoid eye contact, lie on the floor, or sit in silence. There’s no “right way” to be here.
Over time, we begin to notice what repeats. The beliefs that feel rigid. The parts of you that protect. The parts that feel younger, louder, quieter. We build awareness. And with awareness, choice.
You won’t be analysed. You won’t be judged. And I won’t pretend to have neat answers to complicated human experiences.
What we create is a space where you can slowly become more yourself.

No, I offer weekly sessions as a minimum, and I recommend committing to at least six weeks. This regularity is key to building a strong therapeutic relationship and creating a secure container for our work together. In my experience, fortnightly sessions often turn into a bit of a 'check-in', where we don’t get into the deeper work that makes real change happen.
Financially, weekly sessions actually save you money in the long run. By coming consistently, we’re more likely to make progress faster, meaning you’ll likely need fewer sessions overall. So, while it might seem like fortnightly is easier on the budget, it tends to end up costing more both in time and money.

I offer both online and in-person sessions to accommodate different needs and preferences. Whether you’re more comfortable meeting face-to-face or find that online sessions fit better into your schedule, we can work in the way that suits you best. Just let me know what works for you, and we’ll arrange it!

Each session is 50 minutes. People engage in therapy for varying lengths of time, depending on their needs and goals. I offer open-ended therapy, meaning there’s no set number of sessions. Instead, we’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is helping and adjust as needed, so you can take the time that feels right for you.

I take a creative, holistic, and empathetic approach to therapy. My work is grounded in collaboration, so we’ll tailor our sessions to fit your unique needs and experiences. I aim to create a safe and supportive space where you feel free to explore whatever comes up, whether through creative methods or open conversation. I specialise in working with neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities, and I always bring an inclusive, affirming perspective to our work together.

Absolutely! You’re welcome to reach out again whenever you feel ready. Sometimes, the timing or circumstances change, and taking that step back can actually be helpful in deciding what’s right for you. Whether you’d like to revisit what we discussed before or start fresh, we can take it at your pace.
“Each week I have my 50 minute session with Cloe, it gives me a safe space to be able to open up and talk about whatever is playing on my mind. In my (quite often!) chaotic life of 3 children, one with additional needs, these sessions are an invaluable space that allow me to offload, explore and reset.
Cloe is supportive, encouraging and reassuring - and her calm and non judgemental energy makes me feel safe and able to open up.”

Testimonials
“Meeting and working with, and alongside, Cloe has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Cloe has a rare capacity for really ‘being’ – with the present moment, with the person in front of her, and with all the feelings and stories and expressions and experiences, no matter how difficult, brought to her in her sessions. Through her therapeutic work, Cloe holds a safe, welcoming space for the person to bring all parts of their self to her – be it playfulness, sorrow, hope, grief. Be it unbridled joy at the little things in life, or trauma in the face of big things, such as social injustice or a devastating loss. She is the most embodied person I have ever met – so wholly in tune with herself, the people she is with, and the universe around her. She is both grounded and flowing, wise and creative, a dancer and mover in the deepest sense of the word. And on top of all that, she is warm and compassionate – the sort of person whose company you want to remain in.”

“I found Cloe easy to to talk to and non-judgemental. She worked collabratively and helped me see myself in a different light, gradually enabling me to rethink some of the negative thoughts I had been carrying around for many years.
She listened carefully and was clear about how and what she thought we could work on together.
She helped develop strategies with me to deal with my anxiety when it arises and gave me perspective that I am not the only person feeling anxious in social and work situations. Gave me greater awareness on some of the ways my upbringing might have impacted me.”

“I can’t express how life changing this has been, it has hugely benefited, and effected in a positive way every aspect of my every day life.
Image making has been really great and something I will continue. ”

“Cloe made me feel very relaxed and that I was in a safe place. She helped me become more aware of ‘me’ and my triggers. She was very encouraging and great at helping my find the answers, without telling me.
These session have made massive changes to me and how I see myself, which in turn improved my relationship with everyone around me.
Cloe has been a fantastic support and guided me from spiralling to a place I can manage myself positively.”
