Pain is rarely simple, and it is always unique. I offer advanced massage therapy using The Jing Method™ - combining effective hands-on techniques with a modern understanding of pain science.
At my home clinic in Newhaven, I provide an inclusive, understanding space where all bodies are welcomed and respected.

I’m Jemma Jackson, and I believe in the power of massage to change lives. Not because it’s soft or indulgent (though it does feel wonderful), but because when it’s grounded in evidence, built on partnership, and done with genuine care - it works.
Jing Method™ Massage is clinical, creative, and collaborative. It’s bodywork that we do together - combining hands-on techniques, movement, nervous system education and rehabilitation strategies. It helps you understand and work with your pain, not against it.
Sessions are suitable for people living with persistent or complex pain, those adjusting to body or life changes, pregnant women (and people) from conception, through the fourth trimester, and anyone ready to take an active role in their recovery.
I don’t offer single sessions because this kind of work needs time. Time to understand what’s going on for you, build trust with your body, and create lasting change rather than temporary relief.

What makes it different?
Pain is complex. It’s shaped by far more than tissues – it’s shaped by your story: stress levels, relationships, sleep, hormones, trauma, thoughts, beliefs, sensory sensitivity, (i.e. LIFE!) – all of it influences how we feel in our bodies. The Jing Method™ honours that complexity.
It blends the latest understanding of pain science with hands-on care and therapeutic partnership. No routines. No promises of a "fix." Just thoughtful, responsive treatment that meets your body and nervous system where they are.
I trained to the highest level in this approach and now teach it at the Jing Institute in Brighton, where it's been changing the massage industry for over 20 years.

Who is this for?
I work with people whose bodies are carrying pain, tension, or exhaustion in many different ways. Some live with long-term or recurring conditions such as fibromyalgia, hypermobility, or chronic fatigue. Others are navigating pregnancy, postnatal recovery, hormonal shifts, or stress-related fatigue. Some live with persistent (chronic) musculoskeletal pain (back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain )
Many of my clients are neurodivergent or part of the LGBTIA+ community, and I aim to make this space feel, safe, respectful, and adaptable to individual needs.

What will happen in a session?
Every session includes time for consultation, orthopaedic assessment, and discussion about how things have been since your last visit. We might look at movement patterns, check benchmarks, or explore what's changed.
The hands-on part might include:
Deep tissue massage
Myofascial release (MFR) techniques
Trigger point therapy
Hot stone massage
Active stretching (PNF/AIS)
Depending on your needs, we may also integrate mindfulness, breath work, or strength-based rehab movements. This isn’t a passive treatment. It’s a collaborative process, together we create the conditions for change.
Between sessions, I’ll offer personalised suggestions to help your body continue to adapt and shift - from movement and strength exercises to small daily adjustments that make a real difference.

Programmes and Pricing
Massage can ease pain and increase movement, and that matters. But research is clear that when it comes to persistent or complex pain, a single session can only do so much. Lasting change comes from consistency, repetition, and a treatment approach that evolves as your body responds.
That's why I offer programmes. Each one combines hands-on treatment with consultation, assessment, and rehabilitation strategies, building a genuinely individualised picture of what's going on for you and what your body needs. Between sessions you'll receive simple, practical strategies to support your progress: movement, strength work, or body-awareness practices chosen for where you are right now.
This multimodal approach is what the evidence points to for persistent pain. It's also, in my experience, what actually works. Not because a single massage isn't valuable, but because real, lasting shifts need time, trust, and a plan.
My role isn't to fix you. It's to offer skilled input, honest guidance, and genuine partnership while your body learns to adapt and heal. Every session begins with a check-in and ends with a reassessment, so progress is always measured and the plan always reflects where you actually are.

This is where we begin. Whether you're new to this way of working, dealing with something that's recently flared up, or simply ready to do something about pain you've been putting up with, this programme gives us the foundation we need.
Your first session includes a full consultation and orthopaedic assessment alongside hands-on treatment. From the start we're building a clear, individualised picture rather than just responding to symptoms. We'll use techniques including myofascial release, deep tissue massage, hot stones, and joint mobilisation, alongside movement and rehabilitation guidance you can work with between sessions.
Each session builds on the last. By the end of the programme we'll have a much clearer sense of what your body needs, and you'll have practical tools to support your own recovery.
The 90-minute sessions give us more room to work and tend to suit people with more complex or longstanding concerns. The 60-minute sessions are a good fit if your schedule is tighter or your goals are more focused.

If your pain is persistent, recurring, or starting to shape the way you live and move, this programme gives us the time and depth to work with it properly. This is the right fit for people dealing with things like chronic back pain, migraines, pelvic pain, fatigue-related symptoms, or movement restrictions that keep coming back despite your best efforts.
Over the programme we'll move beyond responding to symptoms and start exploring the deeper patterns driving them - how your whole system is responding, not just the site of your pain. Treatment draws on myofascial release, deep tissue massage, hot stones, joint mobilisation, and nervous system support, woven together with movement rehabilitation and education so you understand what's happening and why.
Each session builds on the last, and the programme is valid for eight months, giving us flexibility to pace the work in a way that suits you. By the end, you'll have a much clearer picture of your body and a practical framework to keep moving forward.
The 90-minute sessions give us more room to work and tend to suit more complex or layered presentations. The 60-minute sessions work well if your schedule needs flexibility or your goals are more specific.

This is the most in-depth programme I offer, and it's designed for people who need more time, more depth, or both. It suits those living with complex or long-term pain, multiple overlapping issues, or those navigating significant body or life changes — including long COVID, burnout, trauma-related pain, or hormonal shifts like perimenopause.
Pregnant clients are welcome from the first trimester.
The extended length of this programme means we can pace things gently and thoroughly. There's more space to settle in, track patterns over time, and really test what's working between sessions. Treatment draws on the full range of Jing Method techniques, with a particular focus on nervous system regulation, movement confidence, and building sustainable strategies for living with more ease in your body.
As with all programmes, every session begins with a check-in and ends with a reassessment. Over ten sessions that continuity adds up to something meaningful — a genuinely detailed picture of how your system works and what it needs.
The programme is valid for 12 months, giving us the flexibility to pace the work around your life.

Memberships
A membership helps you stay connected to your progress and prevent tension or pain from building back up.
Pick a rhythm that suits your life and your budget. You don’t need to be in crisis to keep receiving care. You just need to know that it helps – and want to keep going.
Sessions are monthly and don’t roll over.

Perfect if you want to keep things ticking over. Maybe we’ve resolved a specific issue, but you know your body feels better when you get regular input. Once a month gives you a chance to check in, notice changes, and stay ahead of tension or pain before it builds up again.

Great for managing ongoing symptoms, busy bodies, or times of extra stress. Fortnightly treatments give us the space to work with deeper patterns, support your nervous system, and respond to how your body is doing from week to week. It’s steady support, without being overwhelming.

For when you know your body needs weekly input to stay on track. This option offers consistent, focused work with enough frequency to really shift stubborn patterns, stay connected to movement goals, or support long-term regulation. It’s also a solid option for people in active rehabilitation or emotionally demanding life seasons.

Sessions don’t roll over, so it’s up to you to get them booked in – I’ll help you stay on track. Think of it as a commitment to yourself, not just your calendar.

If you’re currently studying with the Jing Institute on the BTEC Level 6 course (year 1 (ACMT) or years 2/3), you can book one-off treatments for experience and learning purposes.

The Jing Method™ is an outcome-focused massage therapy approach, which means we work together toward a clear goal – like reducing pain, increasing movement, or managing symptoms. It blends Eastern techniques (like shiatsu, Thai massage, acupressure) with Western styles (such as deep tissue, sports massage, and myofascial release). Sessions are active and collaborative. I’ll often give you homework (in the form of simple movements, exercises, or rest strategies) to keep the work going between appointments.

Yes – that’s my main area of work. Whether you live with fibromyalgia, hypermobility, chronic fatigue, migraines, endometriosis, or general muscle and joint pain, we’ll work together to find what helps. I’ll adapt the pace, pressure, and plan to match where your body’s at.

Yes. I’ve trained specifically to work with women and people from the first trimester onwards. The treatment will be side-lying and all techniques are adapted to support your changing body. I’ll check in regularly to make sure you’re feeling comfortable, supported, and safe.

No – and that’s on purpose. Before you get on the table, we’ll do a consultation and orthopaedic assessment to understand what’s happening in your body and what kind of outcome you’re hoping for. That way I can tailor the treatment properly. After the hands-on work, we’ll reassess and go through rehab, stretches, or mindfulness strategies you can use between sessions.

Sometimes. If you’re already in pain, some areas might feel tender – but I never work from a “no pain, no gain” mindset. My aim is to work within a comfortable range whenever possible. You’re in charge of your session, and we’ll always adapt if something feels too much.

Only to your comfort level. You’ll be securely draped at all times and I’ll only uncover the area I’m working on. If you’d rather stay fully clothed, no problem – I can work with techniques like myofascial release, active stretching, and acupressure. Just wear something loose and comfy that lets you move easily.

No, not anymore, I only offer programmes and memberships – but I can recommend plenty of brilliant, highly trained students who do offer one-off treatments. Drop me a message with your location and I’ll point you in the right direction.

Jing Method™ massage is clinical and results-focused. It’s not a full-body relaxation massage or a set routine – it’s a tailored, evidence-informed treatment designed to help you move better, feel more comfortable, and understand your body. It’s gentle when needed and strong when appropriate – but always responsive to you.

Loose, comfortable clothing is best, especially if we’re doing movement work or staying fully clothed for treatment. You can bring layers to stay warm after the session too.

Absolutely. Many of my clients are autistic/ADHD’ers/AuDHD’ers, and I do my best to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and low-demand. If there are particular sensory needs or communication preferences you’d like me to know about, you can share them anytime – no explanation needed.

You’ll book your initial 90-minute session and pay in full online, and we’ll book the rest together. Packages vary in length, so you can choose the one that fits your needs and availability.
